My posts seemed to have dried up in the summer heat but there is a reason for that. I had to take some time away for a special trip; a road trip to take care of my parents for a couple of weeks which put everything else here in Tennessee on hold. I’m pleased to share that my Dad’s surgery went well and I am so thankful that I was able to help them out. It’s hard to be so far away when they really need someone closer to check on them and help them with daily tasks. Being able to engage in a simple conversation and share a laugh are luxuries they seldom get to enjoy as they are almost homebound.
Thankful for the opportunity to spend time with my precious mom and dad. Grateful that I was called on to serve and honor them. It is a new season in my life where I’m experiencing a role reversal. I’ve probably read about, but am now experiencing how the roles of parent/child can change over time. When we get older, we may find ourselves in the position of caring for our parents like they did for us when we were very young. It’s interesting to me how life has come full circle.
But, for now, I’m back in Tennessee with my immediate family and my life here. My life here includes MANY volunteer opportunities (some of which have huge time commitments), along with being a wife and being a mother to adult children. As if I wasn’t busy enough, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of blogging and am working on building my online presence. Believe it or not, I’m thinking of starting a You Tube channel soon! (By writing this down, it should help hold me accountable). My big dream/goal is to earn the Stampin’ Up incentive trip in a few years. So, time will tell if you can teach an old dog new tricks. Stay tuned in the next month or two. You may get to see an “old lady” share her love for card making.
Thanks for allowing me to share my journey with you. ♡
