To make this stunning card, I placed the stamp set on my Stamparatus because this is a very large stamp set. Just be sure to keep those 2 magnets a long way away from each other. I have had my Stamparatus for a couple of years now and I’ve always tried to be cautious. That is until yesterday. Yep! Snap! Those two magnets snapped together so quickly. They usually break when that happens. Guess who will be ordering replacement magnets. ugh!
But back to the card…I stamped the butterflies in Pacific Point. My next step was to use a sponge dauber and Balmy Blue ink to color the interior of each butterfly. After that I used a sponge dauber with Night of Navy and went around the outer wings of each of the butterflies on the stamp itself. (I’ll make a YouTube video soon so you can watch all the specifics)
I used 3 Stampin’ Write Markers to make this card. The first was the Black marker which I colored the bodies of each butterfly with on the stamp itself. Their bodies aren’t clearly defined on the stamp so you have to use your own judgement as to where to color. After the black I moved the the Pacific Point and the Balmy Blue markers (be sure to NOT use the blends on your stamps by the way – they will not wash clean- but the Stampin’ Write Markers will.) Those 2 blues I used to just darken up some of the parts of the butterflies themselves – on the actual card.
Once all the coloring was complete I cut the card down to size. I believe mine ended up being 5 1/8 x 3 3/16. I then ran the card through the Cut and Emboss machine with the Tasteful Texture 3D embossing folder.
To mat the card, I used Night of Navy cardstock and then Balmy Blue cardstock for the card base. A few gilded facets gems (that I believe are retired) and a few touches of Wink of Stella gave the card some soft bling.
