I just love fall – almost everything about the season. The changing leaves is one of my top five favorite thing about fall. I’m hoping that we will have a pretty fall this year. In just a couple of weeks we will know if that will happen for us.
A pretty fall depends on lots of different elements coming together just like this card. I’ll list at the bottom the products used to make this card. The copper ribbon and the die that was used to cut out the Sahara Sand paper are retired but the other elements are all in the current catalogs. There are other ribbon choices and die choices that would work beautifully.
The eye-catching part of this card is the two toned leaves. That look was achieved by stamping the leaves in Crushed Curry first. Then, with a sponge dauber, the inked stamp was edged with Cherry Cobbler. I even put a touch in the middle of some of the leaves. Be sure to wash off you stamp after you stamp each leaf otherwise you will end up making your Crushed Curry stamp pad turn orange (from the Cherry Cobbler you added to the edges of the stamp). A little cleaning in between stamping is worth the pretty look of these leaves.
After I stamped all of the leaves across the Basic White strip, I added dots from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set using Sahara Sand ink. There are wonderful background stamps in this set. I have other older leaf stamp sets but this one is my new favorite.
The background piece of the card is cut from Early Espresso cardstock then run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine in the Bark 3D embossing folder. The tiny leaf was die cut out of copper foil paper. The layer on top of the Sahara Sand is Cajun Craze. Along with the copper ribbon, there are 2 strands of baker’s twine. I tied all three of these in a bow together and adhered it with a glue dot. The sentiment (which I think came from a Paper Pumpkin set) is stamped in Early Espresso on the little tag from the Ornate Frames die cuts.
