My nephew got married last weekend and the entire wedding was fall-themed. Earlier this summer, when I saw their wedding invitation, I knew immediately that the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set from the new Mini Catalog would have to be on my next order.
Although, I love fall, I didn’t own any pumpkin stamp sets…until now. Don’t you think their wedding invitation looks a lot like the stamp set? That was the beginning of my card then I used a myriad of other Stampin’ Up! products to try and recreate the look of their invitation. I used several retired products which helped me feel justified in hanging onto (“hoarding”) so many of the stamps, dies, and other wonderful products. I just knew they would come in handy some day. 😉

I used Soft Suede ink for the pumpkin outline. I used Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends for coloring the leaves. I drew the additional leaves with a Stampin’ Write markers. I used Stampin’ Blends for the base colors on the pumpkins and I used the retired shimmer paint to bring the pumpkins to life. The gold dots around the pumpkins and leaves are just dots of the Vegas Gold shimmer paint (retired).
For the front of the card, the sentiment came from the current stamp set, Elegantly Said, and was stamped with Versamark then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I put the sentiment strip into the Lovely Labels Punch and punched both ends. A strip of Evening Evergreen behind the sentiment helps to highlight it.
Here is a list of retired products that I used: (perhaps you have some of them in your fun stash) Be Mine Stitched Dies – for the gold scallops, Borders Abound – for the vine in Soft Succulent, Detailed Band Dies – for the inside sentiment, Dandelion Wishes stamp set – for the inside sentiments, and Shimmer Paint (in Vegas Gold and Frost White).
I was over the moon excited about how this card turned out. Four days before the wedding, I finished the card and sent my sister a photo of it via text. She could hardly believe the resemblance to her son’s wedding invitation. She commented that the card would be a special keepsake. That made my heart so happy!

The inside of the card kept the gold and Soft Succulent colors along with a touch of Evening Evergreen. The vine came from a retired stamp set (Borders Abound ) and was colored with Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends. On the front of the card the Pick a Punch tag was used. If you need more info or details on how this card was made, just leave a comment and I’ll do my best to find that info and share it with you.
