Fond of Autumn is the perfect name of the stamp set used to create this card. Fall is my all time favorite season. I love making fall themed cards and this one has been my favorite so far this year. The combination of Mint Macaron and Cajun Craze seemed an unlikely pair to me but they work perfectly in this card.
When coloring is involved, Staz On ink is your best friend. This allows for better coloring since it is not a water based ink. Saddle Brown Staz On ink was my choice because of the soft fall colors. After stamping the image, you can go to town coloring with a wide variety of Stampin’ Blends. I didn’t count the number of blends I used but they filled up a pencil box at my recent Fall Card Workshop. Coloring is fun and relaxing to me so I thoroughly enjoyed making this card.
After I colored the image, I ran it though the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine using the Stripe 3D embossing folder. This folder adds a great rustic wood look to the paper. I grabbed a sponge dauber and added some Cajun Craze ink to the edges and some of the raised areas on the embossed paper.
In my tutorial video, I walk through some of the colors that I used. You can also watch and see which colors I put where and how I blend them. You can watch the video here.
For the sentiment, I chose Soft Suede stamped on a piece of Crumb Cake. I cut the paper out with the next to largest banner from the Stylish Shape Dies. Then to continue the distress look, I used the sponge dauber to add some Cajun Craze ink to the edges and a few extra spots on the front.
The large piece of Mint Macaron was embossed using the Stitched Greenery Die. Don’t let the name fool you. The die is really more of an embosser. Running this die through the machine, you will get an image with beautifully perforated pattern of leaves. This die works well in so many different card applications.
A few small gold gems give the centers of the flowers added interest. But, with all the different colors used in the card, a wide variety of gems would work just as well.

If you like coloring and fall like I do, I hope you’ll try your hand at this card. If you do, let me know how you changed yours up. I would love to hear from you.
