Hues of Happiness DSP makes beautiful cards

The Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (DSP) makes it easy to create beautiful cards. All the colors and images in the paper are stunning. For this birthday card, I selected the purple hues as it is for my sister’s birthday. My sister is a purple fan. You can click here to see another example of a card featuring DSP.

I don’t usually decorate my envelopes but I thought this was a perfect opportunity. By cutting a narrow piece of the Designer Series Paper and adhering it to the envelope flap, you can make a nice coordinating envelope. I need to remember this little extra when making future cards.

I love the coordinating stamp set called Happiness Abounds. Everything about the bundle is wonderful. The free-flowing fonts are a perfect match. All of the products are featured on the cover of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. I didn’t utilize the dies for this particular card, but some of them do punch out flowers from the DSP.

Measurements

The measurements for this card are simple. The Gorgeous Grape card base measures 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. The mat under the DSP is Fresh Freesia. The mat is cut at 3″ by 4 1/4″. The gorgeous Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper is cut at 2 3/4″ by 4″.

The Quatrefoil Embossing folder added a sophisticated element of texture. I ran only the front of the card through the Stamp Cut and Emboss machine with the embossing folder. If you line the card base up carefully, it is a great technique to use.

Embellishments include Gorgeous Grape ribbon and Rhinestone Basic Jewel. These two elements highlight the sentiment on the front without being too flashy. Popping up the sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set adds a little depth.

I didn’t take a picture of the the inside of the card, but I used a mat of Fresh Freesia and Basic White. The sentiment and a flower from the Happiness Abounds stamp set finish out the inside of the card.
