Everyone needs a simple thank you card in their stash. I personally need to make more and send more thank you cards. My intention is always to send out a thank you note. But, sadly, I seldom follow through on it. However, with this simple thank you card, you could whip up a few in no time. As a result, I was able to whip out 5 cards in now time at all.
With this in mind, leaf stamps are great to have on hand when making quick cards. The Layering Leaves stamp set coordinated with the Bough punch. Punches make card making a breeze and doesn’t require a die cut machine. By the way, my very first Stampin’ Up! order had a punch on it. For that reason, I’ll probably always keep that stamp and punch set to remind me of my stamping journey.
Thank you Card Recipe
Colors
Today’s card features Berry Burst and Bubble Bath cardstock and corresponding inks. These are both new to the basic color collection line up and pair well together. I used the background stamp Sketched Plaid stamped in Bubble Bath (tone on tone) on the front of our thank you card. Although this was my first time using the background stamp, I’m sure it won’t be my last!
I used Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Berry Burst and Bubble Bath ink colors to stamp the leaf image and flower image before punching them out. Using a sponge dauber, I added the darker color on each image which gave it dimension. For the tiny flower image, I used a Garden Green Stampin’ & Write marker to ink up the skinny stem.
Punch and Pop
For my thank you card, I stamped and punched out two boughs and two flowers. In addition, I punched out one bough from Velum cardstock. When all the images were punched out, I arranged them onto a white circle cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. Once I was pleased with the placement, I adhered the bottom of the branches with a piece of Tear & Tape.
Not surprisingly, the sentiment came from the Layering Leaves stamp set. Embossing the sentiment in white onto Berry Burst Cardstock makes it stand out. After cutting out the sentiment using the Something Fancy dies, I popped it up with Dimensionals. Overall, I think you’ll find this card a breeze to make.

Since the front of the card contained leaves, a quick stamp with the leaf in the bottom left corner of the inside ties the front and the inside together visually. While the Bubble Bath piece for the front is cut at 5 1/4 x 4, the inside piece of Basic White is cut at 5 x 3 3/4 inches. Although the name of the stamp set is Layering Leaves, there aren’t really any layers to this card. Basically, a card with few layers can result in a quicker card to make. Whenever you need to make multiple cards, a quick card is your friend.
