Winter Wishes Card

Did you send out Christmas cards this year? Did you, like me, not send out enough? This simple yet elegant Winter Wishes card is perfect for sending out in January to those you might have “missed” during the flurry of the holidays.

I was inspired by a similiar card by fellow demonstrator Barb Brimhall. Her card used the Magical Meadow bundle. It is easy to create beautiful cards using this set. Loving the color palate that she chose, I decided to stick with those same colors. Night of Navy, Blackberry Bliss and Gray Granite work very well together.

For embellishments, I used the retired adhesive-backed milky dots. Speaking of retiring, do you have the Magical Meadow bundle? If not, you may want to get it before it’s gone. Here is the link to the bundle.

One tip that I learned from Barb’s card is how to achieve the watercolor-look on the berries. After trying to color them with pencils and markers, I read how Barb colored hers. She used a sponge dauber to quickly add some Blackberry Bliss color after the image had been inked up with Gray Granite. Hopefully, I’ll remember this wonderful tip for future cards.

• Card base: Basic White 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored at 4-1/4
• Basic White: 3-1/2 x 4-3/4
• Gray Granite: 3-5/8 x 4-7/8
• scrap of Basic White for the berry die cut: 2-1/4 x 1-3/4
• Inside: Basic White 3-3/4 x 5 and Gray Granite 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
