Translucent Florals Card

I’ve enjoyed creating this Translucent Florals card using the Translucent Florals bundle. For this card I chose to work with just the dies with the exception of stamping on the inside. To achieve the soft delicate flowers, all you do is color vellum with Stampin’ Blends. On my first card, I chose Fresh Freesia. For the card above, I used Boho Blue.

There a few tricks to coloring with Blends on vellum. The first trick is to move fairly quickly and to not color back over what you already colored. After that, you need to allow the alcohol ink to dry before touching it or die cutting the paper. Not surprisly, Blends react differently on vellum than they do on cardstock. I recommend experimenting with different colors. You might be surprised to find how differently the colors look on vellum vs cardstock.

For this card, I used a pretty embossing folder called Softly Sophisticated 3D. The folder is bundled with a stamp set in the current Sale-a-Bration catalog. Different Color Choices

Above you can see the Fresh Freesia card along side the Boho Blue card. Which card do you prefer? I think I like them both for different reasons. There is not a sentiment on either card. Although I did try out different sentiments, in the end, I decided that the sentiments distracted from the soft flowers. But, you might be able to find a way to incorporate a sentiment on the front of your card.
