I love the sunny yellow colors in the new Floral Delight Designer Series paper. Sometimes the Designer Series paper can do most of the work for you making it easy to create a quick card. For my Facebook and YouTube Lives last night I got my audience to help me design different aspects of this easy card.
Before I went LIVE, I cut out the strips of paper to the correct sizes and had several different colors of card bases for the audience to chose from. Everyone was crazy about the Crushed Curry card base. Since it was unanimous, we went with that card base. Other base color choices were Balmy Blue, Garden Green and Basic White. Which one do you think you would have chosen?
The Floral Delight paper can be found in the new Mini Catalog (2025) that comes out on January 7th. I can tell you firsthand that the paper is even more striking in person than in the catalog. Another product that I featured last night is the Bright Borders stamp set and coordinating punch. The punch is called “To the Point Label” punch. The punch coordinates with two different stamp sets. It is actually bundled with the other stamp set that I didn’t feature.
Someone suggested adding color with a Stampin’ Write marker to the flowers/leaves on the border stamp. Although I didn’t have the supplies close by to try it out, I did try it later. You can see on the photo that I colored in the stems with Garden Green. Before I colored it, the stems were the same Crushed Curry color as the rest of the border. I thought it was a marvelous suggestions.
The inside
To tie the front of the card with the inside, I added strips of DSP. Usually, I only add the DSP to the side or the bottom. But this time I thought that two strips would mimic the front of the card. So, there you have it.
How about a Landscape version?
This one is probably my favorite of the two cards. Honestly, I like the paper with the Balmy Blue background better. But, I like the orientation of this card better. Which orientation do you prefer?
During the LIVE I let my audience pick out the colors to stamp the border as well as the sentiment. The one that was chosen for this card wasn’t even on my radar. Several people suggested that I make the border and the sentiment the same color. Per their suggestion, I gave it a try. The new combination was what we ultimately went with.
This time instead of coloring in the stems, I decided to add color around the flowers. I used the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write marker. For both cards, adding just a touch more color to the border stamp really makes a difference.
