Delightful Wishes

The Delightful Wishes bundle didn’t stand out to me initially when I saw the new Mini Catalog (Jan – April 2025). I thought the Designer Series paper was gorgeous and it definetly went on my wish list. But as I looked through the catalog a second time, I began to see so many possibilities with the Delightful Wishes bundle. The yellow colors in the entire suite are so cheerful. It wasn’t long before the entire suite was in my cart and on it’s way to my house.

Thursday NIght LIVES

Last night, for my Facebook and YouTube LIVE, I featured this bundle. During my LIVES I let the viewers help me design the card. I start with a general idea but they help me with which cardstock colors to use. If you haven’t ever watched one of my LIVES, you can find me on Thursdays at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. On Fridays, I have been posting the finished product from the LIVE. Now I can tell you a little bit about how the card was designed. Originally, I was going to go with a Daffodil Delight card base. However, everyone decided that Lemon Lolly was the way to go and having the Pool Party just peeking out around the edges helped tie everything together. Embossing the Lemon Lolly with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder added extra interest and dimension.

I love the pretty velum papers that come in the suite. For this card, I used the Pool Party one with the small flowers. Adhering vellum can be tricky. Putting tiny dots of liquid glue under the center of most of the flowers was what seemed to work for me.

Another trick that you might want to know about it how to work with the center lettering die. Because it is an extremely skinny die, I chose to add a piece of an adhesive sheet to the Pecan Pie cardstock before running it through the Stamp Cut & Emboss machine. Having the adhesive on such a skinny piece really helped. However, the two super tiny dots for the “i’s” were nearly impossible to work with. I would not recommend tackling the tiny dots unless you have steady hands and a great deal of patience. Although I didn’t try it, I think you could probably use your Pecan Pie Stampin’ Write marker to draw the dots instead of testing your patience with the tiny paper dot.

A closer look

Using small dimensions, I adhered the forsythia blossoms to the branch. For the sentiment, I popped it up on mini dimensions after using the pretty label die that comes in the Delightful Wishes Bundle. I’ll let you in on a secret. Because I used one of the shorter sentiments, I only ran the white paper through the machine about half way. After the label was cut half way, I removed the paper and turned it around to only cut the opposite end. The result is a shorter label that fits the sentiment better.

The Inside

I really liked the way the entire card turned out. It is my second card using some of the paper from the suite. My first card used the Floral Delight paper. You can view that card here. You might like it, especially if you like quick and easy cards.
