Cross Pop-Up Card

Currently, the cross pop-up card can be found ‘popping up’ all over social media. I decided to try my hand at making one. Here you can see the final result.

The landscape background piece was my inspiration for the colors and feel of the card. I believe, this particular Designer Series Paper is on the last chance list. It is called Meandering Meadow. There are at least two other similar paper packs should this one not be available at the moment.

There are many different versions of the cross pop-up card. I like this one because the center piece of the cross lays flat and will still fit inside a standard envelope. One of the details that make my card unique is my use of the Timber 3D embossing folder on the DSP pieces of the cross. In addition to the subtle texture it gives the cross, it also makes you think of a wooden cross.

You can check out the product list below to see all of the different elements that I used to create my cross pop-up card. I used leaves from one die set, flowers from another, and the sentiment came from a retired stamp set. If you click on one of the photos in the list and it doesn’t take you to my online store, then that particular product has more than likely been discontinued.

• Gorgeous Grape DSP: 7/8 x 5-1/8 (cut 2)
• Landscape DSP: 3/4 x 5 (cut 2)
• Highland Heather: 1-1/4 x 3-1/4 (vertical piece of cross)
• Early Espresso: 1/8 x 3-1/8
• DSP (purple): 1 x 3
• Early Espresso: 1-1/8 x 5-1/8 (for long piece of cross)
• DSP (purple): 1 x 5
• Yellow (Lemon Lolly or Daffodil Delight): 4-1/8 x 5-3/8
