Wedding Card

Wedding cards can be a little stressful to make, at least for me. This wedding card was for my niece who got married last weekend. Perhaps the stress comes from needing to make a card for a family member and I want it to be super awesome. Thankfully, the Layers of Beauty stamp set is a returning favorite. The coordinating dies and masks make it easy to create beautiful cards.

To add another layer of sophistication to the card, I decided to make the card be a fun fold card. Nothing too over the top, just something to add to the elegance of the card. I’m honestly not sure of the name of this particular fun fold. But, I think the fun fold was perfect for this wedding card.

The main wow factor for this card would be the flowers. I stamped the flowers in Basic Beige onto Basic White cardstock. After the outline was established, I used the decorative masks to apply color to the flowers and leaves. Bubble Bath is the main flower color while Soft Seafoam graces the leaves.

If you know me, you know that I can not leave well enough alone. So, I added more color here and there with a Blending Pen dipped into the “well” of the stamp pad. And the shining finishing touch was the Wink of Stella that was gently brushed over the rose petals.

Extra details

I tried to capture the glitter from the Wink of Stella in the photo above. Being such a close up shot, you can also see some of the added lines of color that I added with a Blender Pen. In addition, you can see that the flowers were popped up on Dimensionals. Of course the flower cluster was cut on the Paper Trimmer so you could have a small second cluster for the inside of the card. Because of the way this card folds, the second cluster although technically on the inside, can be seen when the card is closed.

In the photo above you can see how the card closes but still reveals the rose on the bottom righthand corner. Other details include the use of the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder and the Neutral Mat Dots. To pull everything together, I used Soft Seafoam for the mats and Basic White for the card base.

The sentiments that I used are all retired. However, the punch that I used for the inside sentiment can still be found in the Annual Catalog 2025-2026. To achieve the mat under the sentiment, I just punch out a Soft Seafoam piece, cut it in half, and pulled it apart.

The very first wedding card that I made for one of my nieces and nephews really took off on Pinterest. My nephew got married in the fall and they had pumpkins on their wedding invitation and at the venue. For their wedding card, I was able to recreate the look of wedding invitation just using Stampin’ Up! products. You can see that card here.
