Sunrise Sailing

The Sunrise Sailing bundle comes with stamps, dies, and a hybrid embossing folder. It is a great bundle to make masculine cards with. For today’s card, I decided to use the bundle to make a bookbinding card. Bookbinding cards are easy to create but offer a fun unexpected element to a handmade card.

During a recent YouTube LIVE, we created two bookbinding cards with the Sunrise Sailing bundle. I let the viewers help chose colors and other elements for the card that we make. That night we ended up making two different color combinations. You’ll have to tell me which combo you like best.

The color combinations were Pretty Peacock with Lost Lagoon and Blueberry Bushel with Azure Afternoon. Personally, I like both combos for different reasons. Since my husband likes sailing, I may give him one for his birthday and one for Father’s Day.

The landscape background comes from the embossing folder. I highlighted the raised edges with ink and a sponge dauber. After the sailboat was stamped, I ran it through the Stamp Cut and Emboss machine with the die and the embossing folder. That is what is so cool about a hybrid embossing folder. It not only embosses but also die cuts at the same time.
