Cake Celebration Card

When recently polled, people responded that birthday cards were their number one card type that needed most in their stash. The Cake Celebration bundle is a great answer to the need for making more birthday cards. This particular Stampin’ Up! set was on the Last Chance list. When I checked recently, the stamp set had already sold out and only the die set remains. currently. I hope you had a chance to snag both the stamp set and the dies before they both retired.

I always try to send my Fine Feathers team members birthday cards on their special day. This Cake Celebration card was made for a team member. Since most of my team members are chocolate lovers, I decided to make the cake a chocolate cake. The cake itself was stamped off in Pecan Pie ink while the icing was also stamped with Pecan Pie but in full strength.

the inside

Some people like to stamp images on the inside of their cards. I typically add a piece of Designer Series paper to the inside of my cards. However, for this Cake Celebration card, I enjoyed stamping the same cake that was on the front of the card again. But for the inside cake, I stamped it off the edge of the paper. So, if you are one of those people who really like to stamp images onto the inside of your cards, this idea is for you. Don’t you think it really makes the inside of the card almost as happy as the outside?

And what about the border on the front of the card? I used one of the Fancy Border dies to create the decorative border. The die itself cuts only down one side. But you can turn the die around, line it up, and cut the other side of the paper easily. The Fancy Border adds a little festiveness to the side of the card. As of the writing of this blog, the Fancy Border Dies are still in stock. And it currently comes in a bundle with a coordinating stamp set.
