Peek-a-Boo Card

A Peek-a-Boo card comes in a variety of styles. This particular Peek-a-Boo card has a cute little magnetic closure. In the past, I have used this same template to create other fun fold cards. You can check out another such card on my blog right here.

The key to making a stunning Peek-a-Boo card has to be the use of Designer Series Paper. I’ve used different paper every time I’ve made this card. For this card I chose the Mediterranean Blooms DSP. You might not recognize the paper as being from that pack. However, the floral side is actually on the other side. I like to think of this card as utilizing the “B side” or “Flip side” of the paper. The “A side” gets all the glory but the “B side” is just as cool. Who doesn’t love the blue and white patterns?

Here is the card with the first flap opened up. This is where the Peek-a-Boo is fully revealed. Sometimes, I have used punches for the peek-a-boo part. But, for this card, I used dies. Specifically, I used the Spotlight on Nature dies and the Stylish Shapes dies.

Peek-a-boo completely open

Don’t you think Peek-a-Boo cards are super fun? They would work for almost any occasion. I’ve made them as birthday cards, anniversary cards and encouragement cards.

Measurements

• two Night of Navy base pieces: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored at 4-1/4. And 4-3/4 x 5-1/2 scored at 1/2 (short side on top)
• DSP (for left flap): 4 x 5-1/4
• Basic White (for right flap): 4 x 5-1/4
• Dark DSP (for right flap): 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
• Basic White (inside): 4-1/8 x 5-3/8
• DSP strips (inside): 3/8 x 4-1/8
• Night of Navy scraps for circles:
  • cut 2 with pie plate die (one of those use the Stylish Shape circle to cut out the center – leaving the frame)
  • cut 1 with the eyelet die (cut out the center with the Stylish Shape circle)
• Basic White scrap for sentiment circle.
• Night of Navy scrap to punch 4 small 1/8″ circles (to use with magnets)
• the magnets come from a company called Total Element. They are disc magnets measuring 1/4 x 1/32
