Scenic Z-fold Card

Need ideas for using your pretty scenic DSP paper? This fun scenic Z-fold card might just be the answer. You only have to trim off a tiny bit from either the top or the bottom of the scene. This is a great way to use the pretty paper without wasting the beauty of the scene.

I saw this technique used by Rachel Tessman. She used the beautiful Feels Like Frost DSP that has since retired. In the online exclusive section of my online store, you can find the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP which is perfect for this Z-fold card. Z-fold closed

Looking at a photo of the card when it is closed didn’t help me in figuring out how to put it together. I watched the video and was glad that I did. By watching the video tutorial you can learn some tips and tricks for cutting the card pieces as well as putting it all together.

The sentiment was stamped in the coordinating color ink then punched out with the 1-3/4 circle punch. I used retired sentiments on my cards but hopefully, you’ll have sentiments that will look great cut in a circular shape. If not, you can always use a square or other shape. You can even attach the sentiment to the first panel and not have it extend over like I did with mine. As with most Stampin’ Up! products, the sky is the limit for creativity.

Dimensions

Base Cardstock: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4 and 1-1/2
DSP (6 x 6) Cut off some from the top and bottom so you end up with 5-1/4 inches in height. Cut 3 pieces (along the 6 inch side): 2-3/4, 1-1/8 and the remaining piece will be 2-1/8.
