Take to the Sky Card

The Take to the Sky Suite Collection makes masculine cards super fun and easy to create. As with all Stampin’ Up! products the color coordination in this set is wonderful. For this card, I used Boho Blue and Copper Clay cardstock as they matched to colors in the Take to the Sky DSP. I also used the new Silver Foil paper for the airplane’s wings. Although I’m more of a gold fan, I’m delighted that the silver is back.

The Adventurous Sky stamps and dies have been designed so well. Don’t you just love the cute pun in the sentiment on the front of the card? We made this card at our June Card Workshop. But, I made an extra one to send to my dad for Father’s Day. For his card, I changed up the inside just a tad.

The Inside of the Card

At the workshop, we only added the clouds to the inside of our cards. For my dad’s card I added the little airplane and the Happy Father’s Day banner. After stamping the airplane in Momento ink, I colored the plane with Boho Blue and Copper Clay markers. The sentiment on the banner is part of the Adventurous Sky stamp set as well.

The Take to the Sky card is a fun fold card that is simple to create. The Copper Clay cardstock is scored in the middle and attached to the large Boho Blue piece. After that, the Basic White piece is attached over the Copper Clay and the Boho Blue pieces. If you add a sentiment to the inside or in my case a plane with a banner, be sure that whatever you add does not stick out past the front panel.
