Citrus Blooms

The Citrus Blooms bundle is delightful! But honestly, my favorite part is actually the DSP (Designer Series Paper). I love the blues mixed with the hues of yellow and orange. In addition, the lovely Mediterranean style just brings a smile to my face.

These cards were very easy to create due in large part to the beautiful DSP. Both sides of the DSP coordinate well with one another. It is often difficult to pick a side to use. And some of the dies in the set actual cut out images from the DSP. I used one of those dies in the card on the right.

I found it very interesting that the card with the oranges gives the illusion of being wider than the card with the lemons. That is due in part to the vertical pieces of DSP placed at the top and the bottom of the card.

HOw to make the cards

The lemon card is the easiest to make with the only exception being the need to fussy cut the lemon image. The lemons are popped up with dimensionals. There are three extra branches in the coordinating dies and these were tucked in behind the lemons. For the sentiment, I heat embossed with white embossing powder. The sentiment itself comes from the Keeping Tabs stamp set.

For the orange card, I cut strips of the DSP and matted it with Night of Navy cardstock. Before I adhered the orange die cut, I used a blending brush to apply some Peach Pie ink to the center of the card. In addition, I added some splatters with the Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Write Marker. Finally, I colored some white gems with a Stampin’ Blend to coordinate with the card.

I plan to send these two cards off to friends/team members for their birthdays. The Citrus Blooms bundle would be great for many different occasions.
