A Double Accordion Gatefold card combines two different fun folds into one card. Despite being “doubled”, it is not double the trouble. Although this fun fold card is reminiscent of the twist and pop cards, this one is actually fairly easy to put together. As with all Stampin’ Up! products, the sky is the limit to the color combinations and different papers you can use to create this card. I chose the Wildly Flowering DSP in the Moody Mauve tones. But, now I’m tempted to try it again in the stunning Misty Moonlight tones or the Wild Wheat tones.
You can make this card a little simpler by not adding as many layers. Personally, I love the look of the layers. So, I opted for the layers. However, the card still looks nice even without the added mats behind the DSP. Below you will find all the measurements for cutting out the cardstock and the DSP. To learn how to score at cut the cardstock, you can watch Robin Armbrecht’s video.
The Ends and outs
In my live video, I focused on putting the card together. You can view my video here. I’ve included lots of tips on how to score and fold the pieces to get smoother, cleaner lines. Even with minimal layers, this card is bulky and would not fit into a regular envelope. But, fun folds are worth the extra packaging in my opinion. Or another option would be to make this double accordion gatefold card for someone who lives close by so you don’t have to worry about mailing it.

For the sentiments, I used “it’s your special day” from the Cutest Cow stamp set and the “Happy Birthday” from the Unbounded Love stamp set. The far right panel of the accordion section ends up on the top and outside of the card. I also chose to use a daisy from the Cheerful Daisies bundle to tie in the daisies that are in the Wildly Flowering DSP. And believe it or not, the circle die came from the Crafting with You die set. It is actually the center section of the embroidery hoop. Isn’t that cool!
