The Challenge
Here is the photo with the colors for this month’s challenge. I love the fun outdoor picnic look but ultimately, I chose the colors and not the photo for my inspiration. After looking at the color palate, I tried to come up with a stamp set that would be able to accommodate all the colors in the challenge. The Layers of Beauty stamp set seemed to fit the bill.

The base of my card is Basic White and I used Gray Granite for my mat. For the Basic White panel, I decided to run it through using the new Birch 3D embossing folder. After embossing the panel, I softly brushed the raised portions with a sponge dauber that I had daubed into the Gray Granite ink.

I stamped the flower image in Momento then colored it using inks and a Blender pen. To incorporate the Pecan Pie color, I used one of the masks from the set. The leaves have both Granny Apple Green and Garden Green in them. The roses have Peach Pie along with Pecan Pie (lots of pie) while the small flowers are colored with Blueberry Bushel. I stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel onto Basic White and matted it with a piece of Gray Granite.
More Details
In order to add even more interest to my card, I cut 3 leaves from vellum using the dies from the Layers of Beauty set. The vellum leaves were tucked under the flower image which was die cut then popped up with dimensionals. For the very last detail, I added some white matte gems to the front of the card.
This was my first time to play with the Layers of Beauty set. What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts. My hope is that something about the card inspired you today.
