The Shepherd’s Card stamp set is one of my favorite sets from this year’s Mini Catalog. As an added bonus, I was able to get signed copy of this set. After seeing a card made by Cindy Lee Bee, I created this card.
What makes this card stand out is the highlighting. I achieved this look by lightly touching parts of the stamped image with a white gel pen. The other unique thing about this card is how the Misty Moonlight paper is cut on an angle. To achieve this look, I started with a rectangular piece of Misty Moonlight that was cut 1/8″ smaller than the Night of Navy mat. I stamped the shepherd image with Tuxedo Black Momento ink on the bottom left corner. Once the image was stamped I knew exactly where to cut the paper at an angle. The Paper Trimmer is your friend for this process.

The dotted lines indicate where I cut the paper. I did the same process for the other side of the paper. If you are making multiple cards, I would suggest using the first piece as your template.
The last design element that helps this card stand out, is the use of the sponge dauber around the edges of the Misty Moonlight piece. Using the sponge dauber softens the transition between the Night of Navy piece and the Misty Moonlight piece. It almost gives the illusion of the light from the star dispelling the darkness of the night sky.
The Inside
The sentiment is from the Shepherd’s Care stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy. At the bottom left, I stamped the small town of Bethlehem in Misty Moonlight. The small stamp also came from the Shepherd’s Care set. However, the gold star on the front of the card came from a retired die set called, Stars at Night.
