Cake Celebrations Birthday Card

The Cake Celebrations bundle is perfect for birthday cards, wedding cards, or really any celebration that involves cake. I needed to create two birthday cards for team members and I knew that I wanted to create a pink card using the Cake Creations bundle. After looking through my massive stockpile of Designer Series Paper, I chose a piece of the Unbounded Beauty DSP and began to design the card.

Originally, I was going to make the card be a landscape card. But, I found that getting the sentiment to fit nicely was a bit challenging. As a result, I decided to go for a portrait card.

Next on the decision making grid was what kind of cake did I want to make; strawberry or raspberry perhaps? With my color color pallet including Berry Burst, the cake is definitely a berry cake of some kind. LOL.

The cake sits on a stand using Basic Gray ink. I also found that highlighting a few of the lines on the stand using the Basic Gray Stampin’ Write marker adds a subtle bit of dimension. For the candles and flowers I used Highland Heather. The leaves are Lost Lagoon. And because this is a celebratory card, I thought a little bling was in order. So, I added three rhinestones for some added sparkle.
