Baby Girl Card

The Cutest Onesie bundle is one of the carryover bundles and it is perfect for creating a baby girl card (or a baby boy card). I have owned the bundle for awhile now but finally had a chance to pull it out and use it. Recently, my nephew and his wife welcomed a sweet little girl into their family.

Because the parents were all about pink and tutus for their baby showers, I decide that the Cutest Onesie needed some original elements added to make it more girlie. After stamping and cutting out the onesie with the die, I went about designing a collar, buttons and a ruffle. The buttons were easy as I just used a retired punch that had circles that were the perfect size.

To create the collar, I die cut the top portion of the onesie in the light pink. After that, I cut out a collar shape from the pink. By using the die as a template, I knew where to cut the collar to fit exactly onto the top of the onesie. I accomplished the same thing with the end of the sleeves.

For the ruffle, I cut another piece of pink out wider than the onesie. I marked the width of the onesie onto the pink piece with a pencil. From there, I cut a ruffle out free hand. After cutting out the ruffle, I ran it through in an embossing folder (retired).

Old and new

Many of the products that I used to create this baby girl card are retired. I’m a Stampin’ Up! hoarder. So, I have tons of papers, embossing folders, and dies to chose from. Occasionally, I will have a sale and get rid of a few of my retired products. But, I don’t get rid of many. As a result, my awesome stash slowly grows.

All this to say, that to create a baby girl card like the one I made you really only need the Cutest Onesie bundle and some Stampin’ Up! cardstock. The DSP that I used was from a retired 6 x 6 pack. Both of the embossing folders that I used are retired.

I’m sure you could make a cute baby boy card just like this baby girl card. My recommendation would be to make it in blues and leave off the ruffle. 😉 If you are inspired by my card and make one for yourself, I would love to see a picture of your creation.
