Beautiful Motifs

There are only five dies in the Beautiful Motifs set. Each one is detailed and quite stunning. However, up until now, I had only used one of them. I was inspired by fellow demonstrator LeeAnn Greff to use one of the dies from that set that only partially cuts out the image. She did a great job of making this particular die really stand out. During my LIVEs on Thursday nights, the viewers help pick out the colors, sentiments, and embellishments for the card we are creating. Last week they chose the Pretty Peacock/Lost Lagoon combination over the Misty Moonlight/Night of Navy combo. Which combo do you like the best? I’m always a sucker for the Pretty Peacock/Lost Lagoon combo but the blues are nice as well.

A few Specifics

To highlight the leaves that are partially cut out, I used a sponge dauber to add ink. You can stick a piece of scrap paper or a sticky note under each leaf as you color. The scrap paper will protect the rest of the beautiful motif while you add color to each individual leaf.

Like LeeAnn, I used the small flowers from the Impressions Abloom die set to sprinkle across the branch. For the Pretty Peacock version, I used Very Vanilla flowers (although you can’t really tell that in the photo). And for the Night of Navy card, I used Basic White flowers.

The sentiment came from a retired set called Through It Together. I treasure almost all of my sentiment stamp sets. As a result, I keep most of them and use them often. When you find a useful stamp set, you should keep it (at least in my opinion).

In addition to the Beautiful Motifs dies, I also used the Everyday Arches dies. Both of these die sets lend themselves to simple yet sophisticated cards. If you enjoy those sorts of cards, you might enjoy seeing a few more from my blog. Here is one from the same category.
