Bright Balloon Card

The Balloon Festoon bundle is perfect for a variety of occasions. I wanted to create a bright balloon card to send to my downline who just celebrated a Stampin’ Anniversary. Although, most people immediately associate balloons with birthdays, balloons are great to celebrate milestones.

For this balloon card I chose bright happy colors: Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon, and Lemon Lime Twist. Normally a neutrals or jewel tone girl, I tried to get out of my comfort zone and into the bright realm. I found some bright festive but retired Designer Series Paper to pair with the Balloon Festoon bundle.

As far as techniques, I decided to use a sponge dauber around the edges of each balloon to make them look less flat. The highlight dies that come in the bundle I thought were too big to add to the smallest balloon. So, I used a white gel pen and drew in the highlights.

The embossing folder I used is called Starstruck and it too is a retired item. I thought the soft Lemon Lolly color in the background helped to make the balloons “pop” (no pun intended). Adding some Dimensionals under two of the balloons helped to elevate the card (pun intended this time).

The sentiment came from the Balloon Festoon bundle. In addition to the sentiment the balloon strings also came from that bundle. I used one stamped string on two of the balloons and one die cut string on the other. If you decide to CASE this card, be sure to stamp the strings before you run the paper through the embossing folder. 😉

The Inside of the Bright Balloon Card

For the inside of the card I chose to add a single balloon. I stamped the balloon in Azure afternoon and the string in Blueberry Bushel. Normally, I would stamp something in the lower lefthand corner. But since balloons should float, I thought the balloon should be at the top.
