I was searching for card designs that utilized wonderful DSP but with very little stamping so I could make kits for my upcoming Coffee and Cards class. When I came across this sophisticated fun fold card on Pinterest from Elodie Le Clainche, I knew I had hit the jackpot. For my card, I changed it up a bit with one of the biggest changes being the magnetic closure. (It is silly but, I just love the fun little ‘click’ it makes when it snaps shut).
If you happen to be a DSP hoarder like me, you might have some in your craft room as it wasn’t that long ago that it was available. I used retired DSP called True Love. The black and white paper combinations look great with just a small pop of Mellon Mambo. I did use two retired circle punches (the 1 3/4 and the 2 inch) to make the Peek-a-boo circle. The flowers were fussy cut out of the DSP and popped up with Dimensionals.
The middle section of the card showcases more of the True Love DSP and a die from the Painted Label dies. The 1 3/4 inch punch fits nicely ‘inside’ the black die cut and features a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. The little black dot to the right is one of the tiny magnets. I punched out pieces of black cardstock and sandwiched the magnet in between the black pieces using glue dots to adhere it. The same is true for the magnet on the front of the card but I used a smaller punch for the one on the front. That punch is just barely big enough to cover the tiny magnet. The tiny magnets were purchased online through Total Elements. They are 1/4 inch wide and only 1/32 tall.

Just in case you happen to not have any of the True Love DSP, you can certainly use other gorgeous papers to achieve a wonderful card. I used the Ever Eden DSP to make a 60th wedding anniversary card for my parents. Here is the front of the anniversary card. I’ll probably make a separate post for that card just because of how special this card was for me to make.

I think your anniversary card is made with Ever Eden DSP, right? Where did you find the anniversary sentiment?
Hi Karen, I believe that the sentiment came from a retired set called “Elegantly Said”. I actually combined to of the sentiments to make the one for the card. And I believe you are correct on the DSP. 🙂

What a great card! Love the magnet closure idea. I cannot find that size with True Element, I only see 1/4”x1/16”, can you share the product number by chance? And is the top magnet slightly smaller than the bottom magnet on your card?

I love the cars using the “ever eden” DSP! can you tell me what colors you used for the card base and first layer, please?
For that card, the card base was Evening Evergreen and the mat was Soft Succulent. They were In Colors that have now retired. Hope you have some in your stash. They are 2 of my favorites!
