Everyone enjoyed learning how fun it is to create beautiful alcohol ink backgrounds and marveled at how unique your creations turn out. For one card we even got to “play” with the gold leafing and see how it worked. We used a variety of Stampin’ Blends on velum then spritzed the scribbles with isopropyl alcohol (at least 90%). You wait a few seconds and watch the alcohol start the process of changing your scribbles into a work of art.

In case you missed how I created these backgrounds you can check out my original video here.* There are different ways to create this neat background including using a straw to blow the alcohol around the paper. Another technique is to have an open container of alcohol and dip a tool into the liquid and drip it onto the paper. I personally enjoy this method (spritzer) as it is a tad quicker and still produces marvelous affects.
I hope you get a chance to watch the video and give this fun technique a try. *Note: On the video I did not mention how to adhere the vellum to the card base to keep the edges from curling. The Stampin’ Seal + is the only adhesive that I’ve found that does a perfect job of secure the curling vellum to a card base and keep it firmly flat over time.
